Use it, use it! Winter vs. Summer pruning: Which do you believe in?

I am witnessing a fair share of debate. Some winter make to grow, summer make to control. If you had to pick the best time to prune fruit trees for a low-maintenance backyard, which would it be? I would prefer a light summer touch. Moreover to a person seeking quality equipment, go to the garden section where abodelook their stuff is good and their competition far outlasts the inexpensive hardware store products.
